Dr. Kumar did his MBBS from Rural Medical College, Loni after which he completed MD(Radiodiagnosis),
from Rajah Muthiah Medical College & Hospital under Annamalai University in Tamil Nadu, India. He has completed his FRCR (Part 1 & Part 2A), conducted by Royal College of Radiologists, London. After finishing his post-graduation training in general radiology, Dr Kumar realised the importance and need of sub-speciality imaging and chose to train himself in Neuroradiology at the distinguished National Neuroscience Institute (NNI), Singapore. NNI is a tertiary centre for various neurological conditions affecting the brain, spine, nerves and muscles. Apart from his training in neuroradiology in NNI, Dr.Kumar was also trained in paediatric imaging in the prestigious K.K Women and Child Hospital in Singapore.
Dr. Kumar underwent rigorous training in basic and advanced Neuroimaging studies like CT/ MR Angiography, CT/MR venography, CT/MR perfusion, MR spectroscopy, CSF flow study, Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) and functional MRI study.
Dr.Mitesh Kumar’s personal interest lies in imaging in stroke, dementia and image guided neurolysis in acute and chronic pain conditions.
Prior to his fellowship programme, Dr Kumar was associated with Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute in Chennai as a faculty member where he acquired training in non-vascular interventions like image guided Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC), core tissue biopsies, fluid aspiration, neurolysis in acute and chronic pain conditions and Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA) of tumours etc.
Apart from interpreting images, Dr. Kumar is an avid traveller and loves photography.
